The Snoopy House (17 December 2011)

This is from my visit to the Snoopy House, an elaborate Christmas display in Costa Mesa, California in front of city hall. Created by resident Jim Jordan and a holiday tradition at his home for 44 years, he lost that home to foreclosure earlier this year and was worried he’d have to end that tradition–until the City of Costa Mesa and Snoopy House fans stepped in and saved the display, moving it to the lawn in front of city hall, which has now been dubbed “Snoopy Hall”. An estimated 80000 visitors see the Snoopy House every year and are overjoyed that it’s been saved and celebrated in such a big way.
